WITH THE FINANCING OF “ARMSWISSBANK” CJSC LARGEST SOLAR PANEL WAS LAUNCHED IN ARMENIA

14.11.2019

On November 13, the official opening ceremony of the “ArSun 1-2” solar power plant took place in the Hrazdan, Kotayk region.

It was announced about the project just over a year ago, on November 14, during the event "Energy Week Armenia".

The construction of the solar panel was launched in July, after the financing and supply works had been completed. The installed capacity is 2 MW (photovoltaic power - 2.2 MW). The most modern bifacial half-cut panels of the international market have been used, which generate electricity in front and opposite faces. Thus, “ArSun 1-2” is the largest solar panel in Armenia with productivity as well as with the total power of the panels. It will annually generate 3.4 GWh electricity, reduce environmental carbon dioxide emissions by 1500 tonnes per year.

The “ArSun 1-2" solar panel was designed and built by “Shtigen” company. The panel covers an area of 4 hectares, where 5832 double-sided panels were installed. The total amount of investments was 2 million USD.

The Solar panel was financed by “Armswissbank” CJSC in the framework of the German-Armenian Fund's Renewable Energy Program. It is noteworthy, that the financing of renewable energy is one of the strategic directions of the Bank and over the last 1.5 years the Bank has already financed about 50 solar system projects.
