ARMSWISSBANK: FIRST IN ARMENIA TO PUBLISH A CLIMATE TRANSITION PLAN

01.07.2025

ArmSwissBank has officially published its first Climate Transition Plan, marking its first formal climate transition strategy aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement and Armenia’s long-term decarbonization pathway.

The Climate Transition Plan is aligned with emerging global regulatory frameworks, including the IFRS S2 standard, positioning ArmSwissBank at the forefront of sustainable finance in Armenia. ArmSwissBank is proud to be the first financial institution in Armenia to publish a standalone Climate Transition Plan.

The Climate Transition Plan serves as a strategic tool to translate long-term climate ambitions into concrete, science-based actions, supported by robust governance, clear accountability structures, and integrated risk management.

Key Pillars of the Plan:

  • Reducing the Bank’s Corporate Carbon Footprint
  • Integrating Climate Risks into Business Strategy
  • Innovating with Green Financial Solutions

Developed through a comprehensive analysis of climate risks, opportunities, and carbon footprint data, the Transition Plan provides the basis for identifying priority areas where climate action is most urgently needed. It outlines how the Bank is strengthening climate data systems, governance structures, and operational processes to enable a credible and impactful climate ambition.

This Plan was developed as part of the ''Greening Financial Systems (GFS) Technical Assistance Programme'', funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) through the NDC Partnership, and implemented under the leadership of DAI.
